We are looking for passionate, self-motivated, and top-notch software engineers to join our team to innovate and build scalable solutions to make eBay's staging environment production alike in terms of data and availability. This staging environment is the centralized test environment to perform all automation and manual testing used by every developer and quality engineer across the marketplace. It serves every critical eBay domain, including Buyer Experience, Selling Experience, Payments, and Structured Data.

This is a company-wide initiative that gives the unique and rare opportunity to learn the complex and scalable architecture of every domain on eBay. You will work in an agile environment with talented engineers in the team and visibility to the top leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • Experience in architecting and developing large scale distributed systems using Java.
  • Experience in technical leadership, leading project teams, and setting technical direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience coding in Java, C#.
  • Experience with server-side development in Java, Springboot, Restful web services, big data solutions, messaging and streaming technologies, Elasticsearch, dockers, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with database design, SQL, and database programming.
  • Experience designing and building data pipelines, including machine learning parts for advanced analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead designs for major software components, systems, and features. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve the software.
  • Help build teams and cultivate innovation by driving cross-collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams.
  • Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
  • Architect and develop solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
  • Analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design.
