The Payments, Billing & Risk organization is focused on defining innovative solutions that enable customers to safely buy and sell on the eBay platform. Both buyers and sellers require payments capabilities: buyers require frictionless experiences and relevant checkout choices while sellers require the ability to transact with transparent and timely access to funds.
Our marketing copywriters create content that reach a global audience, connecting buyers and sellers throughout the shopping, purchasing, and selling experience on eBay. In this role, you will support the Payments Go to Market & Product Marketing team to take eBay customers on our payments journey. We believe copywriters are more than writers; you’re the guardian of tone, creator of cohesive language, and storyteller of powerful narratives.
Responsibilities
Develop compelling content experiences using a blend of data, research, and psychology to reach potential and existing managed payments audiences
Offer a strong strategic perspective throughout the seller journey to help influence decisions and drive consistency across domains and platforms
Craft simple, straightforward, human content that makes the most complex concepts easy to understand
Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional partners to define project requirements and inspire a united effort
Always be mindful of our global audience, creating language that works for international markets
Be the “voice” of managed payments, interacting with our potential and existing sellers, responding to questions, and soliciting feedback

Essential requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communication, writing, journalism, or business
5+ years experience as a content strategist, content marketer, UX Writer, or similar, preferably with an agency
Able to work independently, manage uncertainty, and switch between discovery and delivery tracks in a single conversation
Effective verbal interpersonal skills and comfortable presenting your work to senior leaders
Nice to have
Start up experience
Background in ecommerce, payments, or financial technology
Experience developing B2B and B2C content
Versatile content jack of all trades, comfortable switching from developing marketing content to in-product experience content
Community moderation experience
