As eBay Security senior leader, You will tackle meaningful situations in a very unique environment. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven’t been solved before.

There will be opportunities to demonstrate your security engineering and architectural skillset across many teams and initiatives and to also go deep and get your hands on the hard problems you are passionate about.

If you love analyzing, breaking and coming-up with solutions to applications from a security perspective, and you are skilled at discovering security issues that appear under new threat scenarios, this position will provide you with a meaningful opportunity. Also, you will train and mentor security engineers, and Product Development / software engineers in security standard methodologies for design, architecture and development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Demonstrable experience in architecting, designing, and developing security architectures and solutions for complex distributed payment intermediation systems at scale
  • Expertise in network security and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
  • Deep understanding of providing secure solution for highly available platforms.
  • Extensive experience in Threat Modeling, Application Security and SPLC.
  • Deep understanding of Data Security and Data Lifecycle management concepts
  • Deep understanding of Cloud Security (Openstack and Kubernetes)
  • Deep understanding of Operating Systems security concepts and kernel components.
  • Proven security knowledge of modern Linux kernels in kernel/C development, debugging, problem and performance analysis.
  • Deep understanding and experience with data encryption and modern data tokenization (stateless/vaultless)
  • Become a motivated product and industry influencer by maintaining deep technical and business knowledge of various market segments and of best-of-breed security strategies
  • Ability and willingness to become a hands-on engineer if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years of security engineering and architectural experience / or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field with 15+ years of security engineering and architectural experience
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services security
  • Experience with the application of threat modeling or other risk identification techniques
  • 10+ years of experience in Payment, Banking Security
  • 10+ years of application security experience
  • 5+ years of experience securing data stores (RBMS, NoSQL etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience with securing analytical systems (BI, Hadoop, etc)
  • 5+ years of experience with PubSub systems and Enterprise Service Messaging Bus
  • 10+ years of experience and involvement with development team(s) that delivered commercial software or software-based services (development, QA testing, or security role)
  • Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits
  • Proven ability and detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
  • Experience with the application of threat modeling or other risk identification techniques
  • Development experience in C/C++ and/or Java and scripting skills (e.g., Python, shell scripting)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills and teamwork skills
  • Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated
