The Pricing & Monetization team is responsible for defining the vision for how eBay monetizes its marketplace -- balancing growth, customer satisfaction, and financial objectives for eBay within a challenging and dynamic competitive landscape. Using a data-driven approach, the team identifies and executes on opportunities to accelerate commerce on the multi-billion dollar eBay.com platform while simultaneously innovating and simplifying the experience for our customers.

In the role of Monetization Analyst, you will be able to dive-in and learn how to drive analysis and insights into critical strategic problems for the monetization team, help craft data-backed recommendations on key objectives, and help drive a deeper level of customer understanding. This individual will work cross-functionally with Product, Verticals, Seller Engagement, along with other analysts across the company to identify areas of opportunity for improving customer engagement, strengthen value proposition for customers and drive revenue growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Dive into seller needs in new and emerging categories both on and off eBay
  • Conduct market research to identify how eBay offerings compare to other US marketplaces.
  • Identify customer segments using data, develop and send a survey to obtain additional data from sellers and buyers to get customer point of view on nuances within the category
  • Interview sellers both virtually, via phone, and in person to collect feedback and anecdotes about their current eBay business

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to use SQL/SPARK to efficiently and accurately access the vast data available at eBay
  • Extremely detail-orientated and organized, with proven success in managing programs in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Embodies the work ethic and personality that thrives in a fast-paced culture with tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and matrix-managed responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to reach out to sellers and proactively conduct interviews
  • Eagerness to learn fast with strong creative problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.

Required Experience:

  • MBA / Master’s degree required graduating December 2021+
  • Excel based Modeling
  • SQL/SPARK skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities in an organized manner with attention to detail and strong problem solving skills.
  • A passion for eBay and the customer base, either existing or nascent.
