Product and Business Strategy Manager - Customer Engagement

About the team:

We play an instrumental role in connecting people with the things they need and love, anytime, anywhere. We deliver a personalized shopping experience and seamless access to inventory from down the street and around the world, as well as tailored shopping experiences, including customized buying and selling. eBay aims to drive growth into new markets and drive value in the shopping and selling experience through “building, accelerating, and disrupting.” The team is comprised of marketing, merchandising, operations, business selling, consumer selling, data scientists and product management. Our responsibilities include all aspects of the region including operations in the US, Canada and Latin America.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Own and manage a portfolio of products ($100M+) that increases customer engagement throughout the customer lifecycle from acquisition, growth, retention to reactivation.
  • Define customer engagement strategy across key focus verticals while leveraging levers of loyalty programs and buyer incentives.
  • Create business case and operational plans to execute the defined strategy.
  • Own product management and define vision, competitive insights, industry trends and customer journeys.
  • Partner with internal teams in conducting customer interviews and user research to identify what customers are looking for.
  • Collate, evaluate and present scenarios for increasing, decreasing or re-allocating investments between the different engagement levers.
  • Partner with Finance and Analytics teams to standardize collation and presentation of options and their underlying metrics.
  • Model the impact of marketing investments on overall business and customer engagement metrics, and supervise changes to this performance over time.
  • Partner with Data Science teams in applying Machine Learning models that help optimize for ROI on the marketing spend.
  • Define incentive programs that solve for - Who to target, When to target, Which channel to target on and with What lever to target.
  • Run and monitor A/B and Multivariate tests and derive insights using statistical analysis.
  • Continuously work on optimizing the customer journey funnel – exposure and adoption rates for the owned portfolio.

Job Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields, MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience in Marketing and Analytics; with a consistent record of successfully launching and managing buyer incentives or loyalty programs.
  • Deep understanding of AB testing methodologies and quantitative analysis.
  • Strong interest and understanding in internet and e-commerce business. Marketplace experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills and independent motivation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to drive and implement ideas in a changing environment.
  • Individual who can prioritize well, communicate effectively, enjoys working in a group of hardworking and highly focused individuals.
  • Attention to detail for flawless execution of plans.
