Risk Management is at the core of Payments done well – and we are hiring curious, driven, and courageous experts to transform our business unit to enable eBay's next generation Payments strategy. Our focus is to ensure the integrity of our marketplace for buyers and sellers who transact with us every single day. The scope of our charter includes Risk Management Strategy, Product, Policy, Decision Sciences, and Policy Operations.

We are looking for a highly talented and self-motivated product manager to join our Risk product team to help build the next generation Risk platform. Reporting to the Group Product Manager, you will be part of the Data and Fraud prevention track and will be instrumental in driving platform capabilities and data needs to address ever-changing Risk trends.

Senior Product Manager - Risk

Location: San Jose

What we're looking for:

  • Synthesize product ideas from cross-functional teams and other Risk counterparts like Policy, Policy Operations, Rule writers and Decision Sciences
  • Define detailed product requirements, working closely with Engineering and QE to drive sprint planning, story prioritization, product backlog grooming and roadmap creation
  • Partner closely with Product Analytics team to collect data insights to measure improvements made to your product
  • Evangelize the Risk platform and its capabilities to internal partners
  • Work with engineering in assessing and choosing third-party technology solutions to meet business case and time-to-market requirements
  • Monitor industry trends in emerging fraud trends in conjunction with cross-functional partners to identify new product opportunities
  • Ability to lead multiple complex projects across cross-functional, distributed teams and multiple client groups

Role Requirements - The Basics:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of Product Management experience
  • Experience in Finance, Banking, Software development or e-commerce a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree, MS/MBA preferred
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, demands and timelines and adjust deliverables using an analytical and problem-solving approach
  • Self-starter who is eager to learn and apply new technologies
  • Experience with product development lifecycle, process flows and working in an agile environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to articulate and present everything from early concepts to full product launch plans to your team, as well as to external and executive audiences
  • Standout colleague with empathy for our customers (both internal and external) and desire to understand their needs, wants and concerns
  • Prior knowledge of API development, Platform or Risk/Payments preferable
