The role and Job Description

The People Experience Manager is responsible for maintaining functional, jurisdictional and subject matter expertise within the area of Employee Relations, where they counsel managers and employees and increasingly provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to the Consultant/Advisor teams as they support managers and employees on a broad range of complex and sensitive issues. This role serves as an escalation point and works closely with People Business Partners and Development Partners, Legal and other COEs such as Reporting, Comp & Benefits, and Recruiting and will also be responsible for external Vendor Management. They are a key contributor in streamlining and standardizing HR policies and practices to enable the HR organization to be more effective in managing human capital.  In addition, the manager will be responsible for local Human Resources administration including being the point contact to complete any statutory reporting and audit requirement.  There will be one staff reporting to this role.

Requirements

  • 5+ years proven experience in Human Resources in a global organization
  • 3+ years ER experience a must; specialist jurisdictional or functional expertise preferred
  • A self starter who is able to work with minimum supervision, a true team player who can collaborate with colleagues within and outside of People team and who is passionate to support the team thrive together
  • Possess efficiency and flexibility to work under tight resources
  • Experience working with remote teams will be a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Native level fluency in Korean a must, fluency in English to be able to work with overseas colleagues (mainly via Zoom and e-mail)
  • Higher certification in Human Resource Management will be a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and coaching to employees and/or to managers regarding the interpretation of policies and programs, employment legislation, compliance, and operational effectiveness and improvements
  • Responsible for the design and/or delivery of training and programs to business leaders across the organization as well as on-boarding for new People Experience team members
  • Provides specialist expertise and jurisdictionally appropriate legal advice and interpretation on employment legislation for critical and/or complex cases.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key partners at all levels of the business and collaborates with PBPs, PDP’s Legal, COEs and external vendors.
  • Manages concerns related to external dependencies, bodies and vendors (e.g., record management and government bodies)
  • Initiate and/or lead projects and initiatives related to policy development and implementation and operational improvements.

Prerequisite Knowledge & Proficiencies:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and utilization of employment legislation, its interpretation and implementation, and of employment practices for Korea.
  • Broad general HR knowledge which s/he can demonstrate to independently mitigate business, reputational and financial risk
  • Skilled and passionate about coaching and developing manager capabilities
  • Skilled at using effective listening, probing and investigatory skills to handle complex, sensitive inquiries and conversations with discretion, composure and compassion
  • Strong analytical approach, able troubleshooter adept at analyzing large amounts of detailed information, diagnosing problems, and recommending appropriate solutions to senior business leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, global organization and to build strong trust-based relationships with local client groups and overseas colleagues
  • Ability to deliver high levels of performance and service excellence while managing high volume workload in a team environment
  • Experience in preparation and delivery of presentations/training to managers.
  • Experience of involuntary employee terminations and restructuring (RWE)
