The Asia Pacific Finance Senior Manager will be an important member of the Asia Pacific Regional team responsible for financial analysis and planning to support our businesses across South Korea, Japan, Turkey and India.  He/she will report to the Asia Pacific Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Director in Singapore.  The individual will be responsible for coordinating monthly and quarterly planning and reporting processes and supporting business decisions through data retrieval and quantitative analysis.

This demanding role requires a candidate who is familiar with the Marketplace business model and the associated metrics and can apply this knowledge to analyze specific issues.  This position offers excellent personal and career development opportunities to the right candidate.  The job will require some international travel.


Job Responsibilities

Financial Reporting
- Responsible for weekly reports on key business drivers to track top line metrics
- Identify and analyze critical business trends and monitor impact of key initiatives

- Development of prototype reports for new, complex, or ill-defined business questions, and ensure report and data accuracy

Full P&L Planning and Analysis
- Responsible for all aspects of managing and tracking full P&L budgets, targets and forecasts
- Analyze revenue and expense variances to budget, target and forecast

Analytical support
Enable fact-based decision making and strategy development.  This is to be done through appropriate structuring of analytical problems, extracting (via data base queries) and analyzing data, and presenting the findings in various formats including spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and email

Examples of possible analyses

  • Development of sophisticated customer behavior and segmentation analyses
  • Category specific analyses
  • Benchmarking analyses
  • Analyses of actual or contemplated price changes

Support the effective implementation of business initiatives by coordinating with relevant people in various functions.

Assist the Country Finance Directors as needed in the areas of

  • Financial planning and analysis of business unit performance
  • Financial planning and analysis for new business ideas
  • Quarterly target setting process (costs and revenues)

Support the business by being the internal expert on metrics.  Actively orient colleagues to the correct reports and systems to find necessary data.  Support with data extraction when necessary.

Other ad-hoc projects as necessary

Required Criteria

Education & Skills Required

  • Top-tier university graduate with a strong academic record; accounting, finance or science background required.
  • At ease with and enjoys the handling and analysis of large amounts of data (experience in statistics a plus)
  • Superb attention to detail resulting in “0-defect” analysis
  • Strong abstract thinking & problem-solving skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required (Excel including Pivot Tables, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with SAP and Business Objects (or other database related software) required
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required (interviews will be held in English)
  • Sound business sense a strong plus

Experience Required & Personal Characteristics

  • Over 10 years of relevant work experience in similar environments
  • Experience advising stakeholders on change process and HC planning
  • FA-leading experience a plus
  • Proactive and goal-oriented personality, good at juggling multiple tasks
  • Strong self-management, able to work independently
  • Demonstrated history of working in a fast-paced environment and flexible in reacting to changing priorities
  • Good people and communication skills, verbal & written. Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus, such as, English, Korean, Japanese
