About you:

We are seeking a Business Performance Analytics Manager to help drive a deeper understanding of our business. This role reports to the Head of Analytics & Insights in Australia and plays an important role in providing thought leadership and influencing decision-making through quality and depth of analytical insights. With access to one of the world’s largest and most diverse datasets, you will work across business units, getting exposure to all aspects of the organisation and helping teams assess and improve their performance.

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining material reporting on the organisation’s performance to senior leaders of the business. You will also be instrumental in helping create business cases for new initiatives, using analytical techniques to understand the key drivers towards achieving our goals.

Your responsibilities:

  • Performance Reporting & Analysis

  • Develop and optimise a performance reporting structure

  • Analyse eBay's large and rich datasets, driving insights that will improve the way we do business.

  • Communicate business performance in a clear and insightful way, empowering the business to make timely and informed decisions.

  • Ad-Hoc Analytical Support

  • Work multi-functionally with Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Customer Service and Product teams to drive strategic analysis and provide recommendations for ad-hoc requests.

  • Inputting performance forecasts and targets for business cases through scenario modelling

  • Help Drive a Data-Driven, Performance-focussed Culture

  • Work with teams throughout the business to ensure that the right KPIs have been set.

  • Ensure that a focus on outcomes and performance are coordinated into everything we do

  • Streamline processes, identify and execute automation that builds time-savings and reduces non-value-added work.

Your experience:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar or relevant role – this could be in insights/analytics, or in management consulting, engineering or product management

  • Strong commercial understanding and acumen.

  • Outstanding conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work with people at all levels and across functions

  • Ability to communicate sophisticated analysis in a precise and meaningful manner with both technical and non-technical customers

  • Ability to clarify and prioritize data requests and balance priorities

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Academic background in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, statistics, economics, business)

  • Outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Strong SQL and relational database knowledge preferred but not crucial
