Product Manager

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager who is passionate about building and rolling out products that our customers will love. You will join a dynamic and fast-­paced environment and work with cross-­functional teams to design, build and roll­out product experiences. Your focus will be on significantly improving shipping experiences for both sellers and buyers.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects on the shipping roadmaps partnering with the global engineering and product teams to launch successful localized products for Australia
  • Manage projects from idea to launch and secure buy-­in, resourcing and support from key internal and external stakeholders
  • Create clear project plans and identify go-­to-­market requirements. Execute through cross functional teams, locally and globally. Work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver with quick time ­to ­market and optimal resources
  • Set­up reporting and provide regular updates on the performance/ status of projects.
  • Find optimization for projects already launched and scale them to a level where they can be successfully transitioned into BAU operations
  • Act as a product expert / evangelist for the local team.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes. Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience in product management and project management
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies, and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands ­on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Shipping and/or fulfillment experience preferred

Education/Relevant Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Must have demonstrable experience in managing multiple concurrent products and projects through the full product/ software development life cycle and release management
  • Must have a demonstrable understanding and appreciation of eBay’s business model from a buyer and seller’s perspective
  • 3-5 years in a technical environment, previous Internet industry experience desirable;
