Our Business
Cross Border Trade (CBT) on eBay sites, primarily on ebay.com (US site). Our mission is to supply competitive selection of items from Japanese merchants or sellers, to fulfill the demand of overseas buyers or “enthusiasts” seeking unique items on eBay.

Position Summary

With our business continues to expand CBT, we are seeking an energetic and high caliber individual to join our Japan team. As Solution/Product Manager based in the Japan office, the individual must be comfortable representing leading-edge applications, tools and environments which drive local seller’s prosperity through a tech-led reimagination.

   Individual also must keep thinking out of the box not only based on current thought, environment, relationship, tool but bring new/updated solutions and sometimes break/change current rules for seller’s prosperity.

   Ideal candidate will understand how sellers’ businesses work; will be able to think creatively, act strategically, be technically knowledgeable about the eBay CBT business and technology/system solution and communicate effectively internally and externally. Comfort with outbound outreach a must.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Communicate and coordinate technical issues related to product integration among marketing/account management/customer experience teams and other internal divisions for new products and existing products
  • Be a regional product related point of contact for existing/new products
  • Mobilizes and leads cross-functional team and manages to schedule and deliverables
  • Identify the business and operational requirements based upon the business requirements & objectives of each product
  • Identifies and clarifies issues, risks, and opportunities, and escalates as appropriate
  • Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Drive/bring partnership discussions with potential external partners for thriving existing and creating new seller’s ecosystem.


Requirements:

  • Flexible and able to work and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced and results orientated organization.
  • Ability to work in virtual and multi-national teams, build relationships, and work effectively as a part of a team
  • Ability to build web applications using web languages such as Java, JavaScript (Must), PHP (Preferred), SQL, .NET, C++, Ruby and Python (Good to have)
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Must be organized and implement project management procedures to ensure timely completion of project, and apply knowledge of communication installation techniques to developer processes
  • Excellent analytical skills and business sense
  • Strong technical competence and demonstrated ability to quickly identify engineering requirements to support business and operational needs
  • Achieving business strategy and goals by establishing priorities, roadmap, actions and milestones and constraints in a logical sequence checking progress against these plans
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and presentation skills required for both internal and external communication
  • Business level written/spoken Japanese/English. Intermediate level Korean in addition is a strong plus.

Education and/or Relevant Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology, or a related work experiences a strong plus.
