Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the Platform Team Lead will be responsible for Kijiji’s core technology – working with the various Kijiji tech teams and globally across the wider eCG organization. If you have experience enabling other engineers with superior tools and foundational technology, we’d like to speak to you.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency using Generics, Lambda Expressions, and Streams
  • Expert knowledge of Spring Framework
  • Experience implementing message brokers such as Kafka and ActiveMQ
  • Experience both providing and consuming web services at enterprise scale with HA
  • MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, Elastic
  • Cloud architecture and infrastructure
  • Application containerization and orchestration: Mesos & Marathon, Kubernetes
  • Deep understanding of DevOps practices and application delivery

Preferred Skills:

  • JavaScript:React, Redux, JSX, Node (or similar)
  • Interface: HTML, HTML5, CSS, SASS, CSS

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of web-application development
  • 6+ years minimum experience utilizing platforms and technologies for development of mission-critical enterprise applications
  • 3+ years leading a team of 5+ developers
  • 3+ years of experience working on Agile Scrum and/or Kanban team(s)
  • Deep experience with TDD and peer review process
  • Adept at abstracting complex business and technological requirements into solutions
  • Strong understanding of REST architectural style and experience building RESTful APIs and RESTful Web Services
  • Experience building mission-critical applications based on Microservices Architecture
  • Experience developing software using domain-driven design approach
  • Experience building Reactive Systems
  • Customer facing product experience
  • Grasp of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
  • Awareness of client-side performance considerations
