About the Role:

We are looking for a Product Manager who will work to discover and deliver products that bring value to our users, chip in to our business OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) and align with our strategic vision. You will be responsible for delighting our end customers and improving our growth in the Canadian classified's marketplace. Reporting to the Director of Product, you will work in partnership with a Product Lead to drive forward a key vertical of the Kijiji product roadmap and backlog.

Your focus will be on delivering significant, simple and elaborate customer experiences. You will encourage teams to go beyond what is possible and pursue forward-thinking design to build products that enrich people’s lives. You will also be encouraged to develop ideas and engage different teams for success. You'll need strong attention to detail, as well as an eagerness to seek difficult product problems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivery of changes based on data to the product to impact Business Objectives and Key Results.
  • Advocate for the customer; develop a deep understanding of our customers and their needs. You ensure that customer centricity is a critical part of any decision.
  • Synthesize customer and business insights, using quantitative and qualitative data to advise the discovery of new product opportunities.
  • Partner with highly skilled technology, design, analytics and commercial team members to identify potential solutions to known problems.
  • Identify key assumptions and hypotheses to validate; for example through experimentation.
  • Prioritise the product backlog, balancing quality, consumer and commercial value with a pragmatic attitude.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related technical field.
  • Open and honest communication style!
  • Experience in digital media, technology, eCommerce or classifieds preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to frame problems, collect data, perform analysis, arrive at valid conclusions and present data and insights to influence others.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and different measures of product discovery, including quantitative (e.g. A/B-testing) and qualitative (e.g. usability testing) methods.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to influence across multiple teams.
  • Inventive with ability to get things done. Capable of operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Natural consensus-builder and harmonious decision-making style across partners, commercial, design and engineering teams.
  • Self-motivated and results driven, with an ability to challenge the status quo and articulate a path to get there.
  • Ability to quickly follow-up on impediments – having a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Sense of fun, operating with humour and a positive demeanour to enthuse and engage people!
