Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide people management leadership and thought leadership to Innovate, Identify and Explore new analytics and operational opportunities to help drive results to enable the business units (B/U) and product teams to track and drive initiatives via the performance metrics.  Identify, quantify, prioritize, test, launch and monitor improvements in business outcomes in their markets from both buyer and seller perspectives.
  • Provide horizontal leadership across the Bangalore Center on certain topics to other peers and teams on certain critical topics (e.g. Data Science, Story-telling skills, Experimentation design etc.), with the goal to elevate the overall capabilities of the organization.
  • Develop relationships across the Americas business, finance and product organizations, collaborate and share best practices, define new standards; responsible for delivering informative, well organized communication of insights and recommendations to business partners and senior management
  • Evaluate performance of tested features and deliver final test results in a clear, concise and actionable manner
  • Contribute on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires a deep understanding of eBay business and current business trends
  • Promote a self-serve analytics culture for the organization by educating partners on key reports, data, and interpretation best practices.

  • Develop and mentor teams with collaboratively among business partners 
  • Identify and develop analytical frameworks to evaluate growth levers like inventory, selection and pricing, and other KPIs to establish measurement and tracking
  • Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects including data gathering and manipulation, synthesis, modeling, problem solving, and documentation
  • Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, initiative, integrity as well as savvy business judgment and quantitative analytic ability

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Applied Econometrics, Math, Physics, Computer Science, other related core Sciences or equivalent plus 8+ years of work experience Or Master’s degree and 6yrs+ work experience in managing highly quantitative analytic projects, utilizing various statistical techniques or Machine Learning techniques/tools to develop algorithms and predictive models.
  • Minimum 6 + years related experience, impacting large domain/business unit results and partner relationships through creation of business process
  • 2-4 years of experience as line manager and business partner of large domain/business unit with proven results and exceptional quantitative and qualitative analytic impact
  • Effective leader and people manager who understands eBay business and current business trends, responsible for improving financial and business performance.
  • Use cases of demonstration or improving financial and business performance.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint skills and database query skills (e.g., Teradata SQL, SparkSQL); and an understanding of data warehouse architecture, impacting large domain/business unit results and partner relationships.
  • Experience with Hadoop/Hive/Python/R/R Shiny and Tableau, ideally in web analytics or at a leading management consulting, financial services or marketing company.
