Backend Tech Lead - Ads

Join us in shaping the future of eBay advertising! Help form the team and lead the development of the new product in the eBay Advertising ecosystem.

As part of growing the eBay advertising platform, you'll drive, in partnership with Product, the creation of the network of hosting eBay advertising content on properties of publishers across the internet and mobile app landscape.

You’ll drive shaping of the technology of the product and actively collaborate within the Advertising organization as well as across eBay globally. We’re a very collaborative team, we highly value initiative, enthusiasm and passion for building high-quality software. The problems we are solving are complex, so resourcefulness, desire to learn and openness to change are a must. We work in an agile environment with emphasis on developer empowerment and teamwork.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Form and grow the engineering team through day-to-day management and coaching
  • Help define roadmap for the product and oversee its execution
  • Establish and promote strong engineering standards and practices
  • Be a champion for the team within the organization
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships within Ads org and across eBay

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Strong track record of building and delivering complex software systems
  • Strong fundamentals in computer science
  • Significant experience and expertise in one or more of the following technologies/languages (Java, Scala, html/css/Javascript, node.js)
  • Be open to working in agile environment
