We are reinventing advertising at eBay! We’re creating innovative ad-tech solutions to optimize the ad monetization and experience on eBay. As a software development manager you will lead a team of engineers and work closely with designers, product managers and partner teams to build engaging UI experiences for internal and external customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers in building amazing tools and experiences for both internal and external customers (Partner Teams/eBay Sellers/Advertisers)
  • Provide technical and thought leadership across development, product, operations and engineering management through effective collaboration and communication.
  • Hire great engineering talent to build a strong team which delivers products with high quality and on time.
  • Inspire, lead, and mentor high performing engineers having front end, backend and full stack development skills.
  • Create and maintain a culture that boldly innovates, focuses on the customer and is fearlessly expansive and collaborative.
  • Execute and deliver on business goals while balancing between long term scalable tech stack.
  • Contribute to technical conversations and debates, and decide upon approaches and tools to use
  • Lead by example and share knowledge with the team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 8+ years of software industry experience. 4+ years of management experience
  • Experience in building large scale, distributed, highly available systems
  • Strong technical and product vision and the ability to communicate this vision to multiple audiences.
  • Proven track record in successfully delivering enterprise/consumer solutions, from design to development to testing to production following agile or kanban practices.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment, while still focusing on goals.
  • Strong customer focus, excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Experience leading a small to medium-sized team of developers.
