Candidate will be an integral part of eBay’s Foreign Exchange (FX) Team, speaking up on behalf of eBay FX. The Treasury FX Analyst will be responsible for FX items within eBay’s Business & Payments Organization as well as the global FX exposure on the balance sheet and income statement. The Treasury Analyst will help identify, measure, and hedge foreign exchange risk in a multi-billion dollar portfolio through a derivatives based balance sheet and cash flow hedging programs; analyze FX P&L through extensive analysis of the Company’s General Ledger (SAP); and ensure compliance with SOX and Accounting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payments
  • Work with internal and external partners to design optimized FX operations for evolving eBay Payments initiatives, Cross-Border Transactions (CBT) and liquidity operations.
  • Assist with business requirements for Treasury related automation related to Payments Collaborate with Treasury functions, the Payments business, Product and Engineering to design, implement and eventually run eBay Customer FX activity.
  • Implement CBT and FX operations in collaboration with external partners.
  • Corporate FX
  • Identify and evaluate FX exposures at a consolidated and individual business unit level.
  • Analyze SAP accounting postings to create attribution analysis of the Company’s FX related OI&E
  • Monitor FX positions and adjust as appropriate;
  • Work with accounting and other departments to recommend appropriate FX accounting processes to be applied company-wide;
  • Ensure the FX programs comply with all current corporate and accounting guidelines;
  • Ensure hedge documentation is in compliance with FAS 52 & 133 requirements;
  • Ensure SOX compliance and proactively identify areas of improvement;
  • Forecast FX results and in-depth analytics of Other Income and Expense section of Income Statement;
  • Support monthly and quarterly/yearly financial reporting (10Q/K)
  • Develop and/or review complex financial models in support of potential capital markets transactions or other corporate investments
  • Collaborate with Treasury functions and Corporate FP&A to consolidate monthly OI&E forecast

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of Treasury/Accounting experience.
  • Payment experience preferred; Trading experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, Quantum, Bloomberg, FXall, and other Business Intelligence applications.
  • Financial modeling skills and proficiency in MS Excel Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ambitious individual with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated abilities in prioritizing and managing multiple projects with minimal direction.
  • The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to develop strong working relationships and trust with a broad range of individuals.
