Stores is one of the fastest growing areas in eBay which in some ways, will define the future of eBay. eBay has always been a marketplace where sellers can not just grow their business but also grow their brand. eBay is reemphasizing this product strategy with the goal to become our seller's platform of choice.

About the Team:

Our Stores team works on elevating the seller presence in the entire eBay experience e2e and in helping our sellers build a community of buyers on ebay. We are looking to bring human commerce to eBay and become the platform that sellers choose to grow their business on. Part of this strategy is to determine how we can leverage and partner with 3rd party developers to accelerate the value we provide to our sellers. 

About the Role:

We are looking for passion for discovery & deploying to production innovative products. The initial part of your role at eBay will be focussed on building the business & product strategy, business case, and determining feasibility of an App store model to accelerate delivery within our ecosystem. Your role will then evolve to focus on the execution of this product & business strategy. 

Your role will be to identify the use cases that ebay should prioritize, partners we work with and APIs we provide. All of this built on a deep understanding of the capabilities/APIs we already provide & developers who already work with eBay.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strategy for eBay to leverage its APIs to build an App store 

  • Competition review to understand App store strategy for other similar companies

  • Work with developer ecosystem team to understand the existing capabilities

  • Build a business plan: identify the nature of opportunity & quantity the same

  • Operationalize & execute on this business plan 

Requirements:

  • MS in Computer Science, MBA or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in launching, scaling or growing an app store/ developer ecosystem

  • Experience in launching new products across global markets

  • Strong analytical skills & quantitative problem-solving skills, ability to synthesize data and make decisions based on data

  • Superior communication & presentation skills. Demonstrate the ability to quickly synthesize information, structure a concise, clear presentation of findings to an executive audience

  • Strong product & business acumen to understand broad implications of building an app store or a developer ecosystem

  • 8+ years of related work experience

  • Proven success in partnering, influencing, and collaborating internally and externally to establish shared passion and goals.
