About the team:
Human-centered insights and a deep understanding of people and culture are critical to how we do our best work. Design Researchers guide partners and teams through this research to discover, interpret, and communicate insights & opportunities in an inspiring way, while contributing to all phases of the design process. Researchers at eBay help our teams use design as a way of understanding people and culture while at the same time using what we learn to inspire and inform design.
We are in search of a Lead Design Researcher (Quantitative) who is radically passionate about gathering and digging through data to understand people’s behaviors to inform and drive data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate is no stranger to working with behavioral and attitudinal data to inform and support researchers and design teams as they craft products and services. The candidate should be equally passionate about qual and quant, with deep knowledge and expertise running large-scale surveys, developing dashboards, collaborating closely with or taking on roles such as Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Market researcher. The candidate should be an expert in utilizing data to inform partners across technical and non-technical roles in a way that increases alignment around user needs and inspires action.
Once at eBay you will
Bring your quantitative research expertise and thought leadership to the team, establishing a practice within the Design Research team and drive programs that will guide us towards understanding and exploring key areas of opportunity to improve on the Payments experience based on our various existing sources of user data and coming up with ways to get more.
You will translate quantitative information and prepare overviews that will catalyze design and strategic decisions, and collaborate with the team to turn those findings into powerful design.
An ideal candidate has worked closely with or was part of a UX/Design research team and is an expert in establishing, combining and utilizing a variety of quantitative approaches to gathering behavioral and attitudinal data. Expertise in advanced statistics and data analysis is expected.
