Job Summary:

eBay is looking for a Senior Analyst with team lead experience, strong interest in modelling and experimentation to drive meaningful insights powering eBay’s Customer Marketing.

In this role, you will work hand in glove with eBay’s data science, engineering and business teams within Customer Marketing. You will drive optimization and discovery of new ways for contacting our customers through coupon offering.

You will be responsible for the design and implementation of a framework to better understand and improve our recommendations that will ultimately build a much better customer experience. You will validate your hypotheses through imaginative and innovative experimental design, often in non-standard configuration. We expect that through insights, data and model driven, you will influence product roadmaps -- discovering the next big thing. You will lead a team of 2-3 analysts.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has proven experience in analytics / data science. You should be able to work independently, set priorities and lead projects end to end. The role will require working with both technical and no technical audiences, across several time-zones.

  • M.Sc. / PhD in computer science, statistics, engineering, mathematics, physics or demonstrated experience

  • Good understanding of statistics, knowledge in experimental design (A/B tests)

  • Scripting and programming: proficiency in Python, R (good to have), any other language is a plus.

  • People management

  • Good understanding of machine learning algorithms, and more importantly some experience with model interpretability: driving insights through models

  • Proficiency in visualisation techniques: static and dynamic to bring data closer to the business

  • Eager to explore new territories and learn new tools or languages at the same time keeping focus on delivering quick prototypes and results to the business

  • Project management, agile working method

  • Good communication skills: ability to clearly synthesise and explain sophisticated problems

  • Proficiency in English
