The Opportunity

StubHub is conducting a search for a Tax Manager to oversee the StubHub International day-to-day tax function. The Tax Manager will be responsible for the corporate income tax provision and compliance functions as well as all indirect tax reporting and filing requirements. The companies has entities in numerous countries of the world, including the EMEA, LATAM and APAC regions. The Tax Manager will be accountable for global tax compliance (outside of North America), while ensuring the most efficient tax structure for the Group (including Legal Entities simplification).

Responsibilities include managing the income tax provision; assisting with technical tax accounting issues; and managing advisors on income tax reporting and tax compliance matters. This position will report to the StubHub International Controller.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with the International Controller in developing and managing the Company’s overall tax strategy.
  • Be responsible for CIT and VAT provisions and filings for all StubHub International entities (EMEA+LATAM+APAC) including all related analysis and support.
  • Support tax related components of special projects and the associated systems implementations, such as SII implementation in Spain.
  • Be accountable for income tax, indirect tax and local audits.
  • Work with the International Controller and external 3rd party to manage the Company’s transfer pricing policy, rules and methods for tracking and driving audit process (ie ensure invoices are posted in the appropriate period and form)
  • Be accountable for keeping Company´s tax accruals updated (NRIT + VAT) according to applicable law.
  • Lead/monitor DST application.
  • Monitor and anticipate changes for legislative developments of importance to the Company, determine the impact of those changes on the Company and recommend appropriate modifications to the Company’s procedures or operations in response to such changes.
  • Maintain tax records, returns, reports and other related materials.
  • Partner with business leaders, finance, legal, and external advisors on business and tax matters, including guidance on indirect tax requirements.
  • Coordinate and Manage tax consulting engagements with third party service providers.
  • Be responsible for tax planning and cash tax forecasting.
  • Assist with devising and recommending legal means to minimize tax liability using thorough knowledge of tax laws and regulations.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in, Accounting, Finance (LADE) or Legal.
  • Masters in Taxation or JD is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of broad experience in tax and accounting, Big 4 experience preferred, international tax experience is required.
  • Experience in business (part of the Finance department) is required for at least 3-4 years.
  • High level of written and spoken English is required.
  • Relevant work experience in Spanish tax compliance, research and planning. As well experience in LATAM and APAC tax compliance.
  • Self-motivated with great attention to detail, strong project management and organizational skills and complete ownership of tasks.
  • A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, to define processes, drive improvements, and guide business partners.
  • Strong command of written, verbal, presentation and research skills.
  • The ability to develop and sustain relationships internally and cross-functionally to influence outcome.
  • MS Excel skills required, experience with provision software, ERP environment, SQL, and/or Alteryx is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, policies and practices.
  • Well organized, able to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines.
