About the team:
In partnership with the businesses, we drive the purpose and success of eBay and its buyers and sellers. The team includes the company's global legal department, risk management program, and its policy group who interacts with content regulators, law enforcement, IP, corporate governance and SEC compliance, contracts, and other legal and government relations matters.
We are looking to fill the position of Junior Policy Analyst at the Ebay EU Liaison Office in Brussels. As Junior Policy Analyst, you will be an important part of our team and you will take on the following responsibilities:
- monitoring EU policy developments
- providing legislative and policy analysis
- setting up outreach programs
- attending meetings with policy-makers and stakeholders
The position reports to the Head of EU Affairs and may require occasional travel within Europe. We are looking forward to welcoming as an integral part of our team a passionate young professional who is eager to get direct exposure to high-profile policy work, representing one of the largest online commerce companies in the world vis-à-vis EU policy-makers in a highly dynamic internal and external environment.
You should have
- a masters degree in European law / political science or similar educational background
- some relevant work experience, such as traineeships at EU institutions, consultancies, or in-house policy teams
- excellent written and spoken English and another European language
- real passion for the interface of law, business, and politics
- good people-skills
- good communications skills, both orally and in writing
- creative thinking and intellectual curiosity
- ability to quickly understand the essence of new policy developments, areas of law, and business challenges
