About the team:

We play an instrumental role in connecting people with the things they need and love, anytime, anywhere. The Americas help deliver a personalized shopping experience and seamless access to inventory from down the street and around the world, as well as tailored shopping experiences, including customized buying and selling. eBay seeks to drive growth into new markets and drive value in the shopping and selling experience through building, accelerating, and reinventing. The team is comprised of marketing, merchandising, operations, business selling, consumer selling, and shipping. Our responsibilities include all aspects of the region including operations in the US, Canada and Latin America.

We are looking for a Category Associate, Certified Refurbished, to join our Verticals team at eBay and help drive success in the Certified Refurbished vertical. The Opportunity

The role is to contribute to the overall Certified Refurbished vertical strategy as a Category Associate, executing through working with important sellers, brands, retailers, and buyers to make sure eBay has the inventory and experience to grow the business. You and the team will be accountable for the success of the categories.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and execute on category strategy (including pricing, inventory, promotions)
  • Responsible for deals and key cultural/retail moment execution as it relates to the vertical and our customers
  • Analyze performance and driving recommendations for improvement/optimization
  • Work with Seller Acceleration teammates and Category Managers to execute strategic initiatives in a holistic manner to improve buyer and seller satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively with external and internal partners, including Trust & Safety, Product Management, Marketing, and Business Development to meet business targets
  • Contribute to feature ideation and adoption for best on-site experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of proven experience in buying, merchandising, or category management in retail or consumer products industry; e-commerce experience required
  • Experience in the space and/or relationships with key industry players
  • Motivated to grow with an entrepreneurial mentality to drive performance against agreed important metrics
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively in large or small group settings
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills and business sense in sophisticated data environment; ability to make the data speak volumes about program performance, trends and areas of opportunity
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Work remotely but must be willing/able to meet in San Jose office 1-3 times per quarter
