About the team:

At the core of everything we do, we ensure that eBay’s customers are front-and-center in all our strategic decisions and that we execute our plans with our customers as our most important priority.

The Data Analyst for our Customer Solutions Team within Fraud & Risk is required to support day-to-day operations by interpreting large data sets to produce meaningful intelligence.

This position will require data analytics that supports all Risk operations, including Risk, Fraud, and Trust related policies and topics, for both back office and front office analysis and reporting.

This position reports to risk leadership with split responsibilities between leadership/business unit driven projects and self-identified projects driving for resolution.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review workflows or process break points to identify systemic fault and provide a complete vulnerability assessment. This position becomes a point of contact with various business units towards mitigating the concern addressed.
  • When existing detection methods are not capable of flagging/working fraud volume, detail the scope of the problem and work within existing structures to build a short-term stopgap to solve for fraud.
  • Provide domain expertise to risk leadership and teammates.
  • Review instances of internal misuse of administrative credentials to confirm malicious intent and financial loss compiling details into a clean and concise word document for distribution as appropriate.
  • Build reporting for operational and business reporting in assistance of ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Communication is key. This position requires ongoing tracking and reporting on incidents to ensure Risk Leadership is fully aware of all issues. From this point, continue to work with Responsible Parties towards resolution.
  • Establish relationships with key partners in GCX, Risk, Risk Product & Policy, Trust Product & Policy, GCX and Global Finance, Decision Science, Business Rules, CS Product, CS Tech, Risk & Trust Analytics, etc.
  • Ability to accept and prioritize multiple responsibilities to ensure timely resolution based on severity and impact
  • Other duties as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Preferred +1 Year Experience with Fraud / Risk
  • Advanced SQL and knowledge.
  • Expert with Excel.
  • Solid experience with Tableau.
  • Proven ability to communicate highly technical problems to a non-technical audience.
  • Highly skilled in Project Management - Detail-oriented and Pro-active with proven experience in effectively managing competing demands and multiple projects.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately gauge impact, classify issues, and raise to appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Strong social skills, presentation skills, and ability to communicate and work efficiently with all levels in an organization.
  • Must be analytical, technical, flexible, self-motivated and a great problem solver.
