eBay’s Decision Management is at the core of Risk Management done well. Our focus is mitigating Buyer, Seller, and Payment Risk through high precision models and business rules. We are looking for a highly talented and self-motivated individual to join our Decision Management Analytics team. This will play a key role in digesting large datasets to find insights, create reports, and build dashboards that visually show our business success.

Job Description:

  • As a main focus, contribute to the success of our Risk Decision Management team from an analytics perspective.

  • Analyze complex datasets to identify end-to-end member behavior insights, trends, and anomalies.

  • Measure performance of our Decision Management Risk strategies (consisting of models and business rules).

  • Use data driven insights to size opportunity, measure performance, and to determine what is working and what is not working.

  • Ad hoc projects providing insights into trends of buyer risk, seller risk, and/or payment transaction risk.

  • Develop, execute, present, and maintain insightful metrics, automated reports, and dashboards utilizing typical data quality functions.

  • Interact with various Risk and Payments BU partners, Operations, and Product and Engineering teams.

  • Take an active part in discovering and evaluating business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, mathematics, or physics

  • 3-5 years of data analytics experience / proven quantitative and analytical skills are essential

  • Experience in Buyer Risk Management, Seller Risk Management, or Payment Risk Management preferred

  • Proficiency with database querying (i.e. SQL), statistical scripting language(s) (e.g., R, Python, SAS), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), and Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables

  • Comfortable working with large volumes of data and connecting data sources. (Hadoop and Spark SQL preferred)

  • Ability to navigate cross functional matrixed, organizational structure to meet individual and shared goals.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguous or incomplete data to draw insights.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
