The job consists of leading eBay's controls and monitoring engineering group providing architectural solutions used to build and manage the network infrastructure, physical servers, virtual environments, building management and electrical power monitoring system applications, including electrical, and mechanical devices and infrastructure. Work with multiple groups within the network critical infrastructure engineering organization including the data center operations, mission critical design engineering, networking, security, hardware engineering, global connectivity services, data center planning, and white space engineering. This position will require coordination between the controls and monitoring engineering team members and all other teams in an effort to provide process controls, data analysis, collaboration in design efforts for eBay data center builds, retrofits, run the business and tech refreshes. Create controls and monitoring roadmaps, including system applications, software - OS, hardware, controls and monitoring network, Tech Refresh, master planning for data center design/build.

  • Manager/Architect Controls and Monitoring Engineering

  • Project System and Equipment Submittal Reviews

  • EMPS/BMS - Systems Application Knowledge, Understanding, and Integration

  • Electrical/Mechanical system devices programming and integration knowledge

  • Drive troubleshooting/resolving of EPMS/BMS Systems

  • Schneider SCADA

  • ALC webCTRL

  • Rockwell FactoryTalk

  • Any EPMS/BMS Special Project Scopes (Multiple Projects Planned)

  • Commissioning Support

  • Training

Required technical skills

  • Extensive experience in PLC based systems and technologies

  • Electrical system infrastructure understanding and device operation knowledge

  • Mechanical system infrastructure understanding and device operation knowledge

  • Network understand IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, Ethernet, POE+

  • Controls and monitoring topology understanding of ModBus, BacNet, SNMP, ION, FactoryTalk, and OPC

  • Multi equipment vendor planning and coordination

  • Programmatic experience to solve repeatable issues and workflows

  • Experience in Industrial Control Systems Security

Required background

  • Bachelors of Science Degree - Controls and Automation - Preferred

  • 5+ years experience support of Controls and Monitoring Technical Infrastructure components in networks layer 3 and layer 2, electrical, and mechanical components and systems

  • Solid experience project managing diverse multi-vendor Data Center industrial environments

  • Proven track record of project managing complex technical projects

  • Experience with 24 X 7 support models

  • Documentation management and coordination for controls and monitoring systems and components

  • Project ticketing system experience - Work requests, tracking, closeout

  • Ability to project manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment

  • Develops processes and performs activities to ensure consistent, high quality service/support levels and identifies potential problems/trends

  • Supports infrastructure consistency with alignment to Best-Practice technology strategies

  • Performs advanced troubleshooting independently as well as demonstrates ability to lead with a focus on teamwork and persistence

  • Demonstrates high analytical skills through troubleshooting and maintenance of complex technical environments

  • Coordinate and interact with other leaders, engineers, and project managers for successful completion of key projects throughout the organization
