About the team:

At the core of everything we do, we ensure that eBay’s customers are front-and-center in all our strategic decisions and that we execute our plans with our customers as our most important priority. You will be a key member of our policy, risk, and controls focused team within our Global Customer Service (GCX) group, and responsible for the following:

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute policy governance program, document policies
  • Design and deliver risk assessment program
  • Strategize and implement internal controls program
  • Document process controls, flowcharts, policies
  • Assist the business in developing process, policies and controls
  • Plan and perform internal control monitoring activities to ensure alignment to established procedures and controls
  • Assist with planning audit program for projects
  • Analyze data and reports to identify anomalies
  • Investigate and fix areas where issues are identified
  • Conduct ongoing formal testing of the design and operating effectiveness of critical operational processes
  • Assist with risk and process gap assessments
  • Identify process improvements and simplification of processes and systems
  • Assist with major global projects and/or process re-designs due to business model and process changes
  • Provide control-related support and training for the team to help mitigate operating risk through fostering an effective controls environment
  • Assist with implementing new processes and controls in response to changes in the business environment, such as; new product introduction, changes in payment standards, and internal process changes

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of audit (internal or external), policy, controls, compliance, fraud prevention, and/or risk operations experience, or relevant work experience, preferably within the e-commerce or financial services industry
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate to leadership at varying levels, independently and expertly
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage team projects and deliverables
  • Ability to document policies, secure and promote ownership and other governance controls
  • Excel proficiency
  • Experience recommending improvement solutions
  • Ability to take initiative to achieve results
  • Superb communication skills to educate/raise awareness of foundational elements/methodologies needed to support an internal control framework
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing controls
  • Experience identifying risk areas and identifying solutions to address
  • Experience assessing, monitoring and remediating deficient controls
  • Experience with investigations and reporting findings
  • Proficient at navigating through ambiguity along with handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment
