The Global Customer Service Technology (CS Tech) team is looking for a senior financial analyst to join our FP&A team to support the eBay Global Customer Service team that includes 200+ team members.  The CS Tech team is responsible for the innovation, development, and management of the technologies and platforms that the team members utilize. 

Responsibilities:

  • Finance support analyst for CS Tech, which includes monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and ad-hoc support (e.g., gap analysis)
  • Responsible for the monthly financial close, journal entries, accurate financial reporting of expenses, and the hiring plans for all of the regional functions
  • Manage compute and infrastructure capex as well as SW/HW maintenance
  • Drive analysis of cost trends and articulate related cause and effect business partners
  • Provide monthly reports comparing actual trends against budget and forecast assumptions by function
  • Create presentation content for monthly business review of key metrics and expense drivers
  • Partnering with CS Tech leaders, corporate FP&A, and corporate controller ship to align and report monthly and quarterly spend
  • He/she works closely with the eBay Corporate Controller ship team to monitor compliance with GAAP
  • Be a relevant business partner that helps guide decisions and resource allocations by providing a clear understanding of the “ROI” of investments and business decisions:  ability to challenge based on trends and variance analysis
  • Continuously identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes to reduce cycle time and churn in all operations planning processes
  • Assist in the development of business strategy and maintain a high level of communication with all levels of eBay Management, including facilitating meetings and presenting analysis

Experience and qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
  • Passionate about business and the related performance
  • 3+ years of finance experience with exposure to different areas (business analysis, accounting, FP&A, etc.)
  • Experience with financial systems such as SAP BPC, SAP BW, etc.
  • Ability to present and impact decision making at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to partner effectively with all functions and levels within the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage tight timelines
  • Ability to present and impact decision making at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to perform in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders with a high degree of complexity and ambiguity
  • The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical skills with spreadsheets, presentations, along with demonstrated financial analysis capabilities
