For our team in Dreilinden / Berlin, we are looking for:

Head of Commerce Innovations (f/m/d)

You will be part of the eBay team working on ideating, developing, and scaling eBay’s innovations in Germany and other European countries. We work quickly and entrepreneurially to develop products and dynamically execute on our go-to-market strategy to test, learn, and iterate. This opportunity to work for a venture studio organisation, with a startup mentality and nestled within one of the greatest ecommerce companies in the world, is truly one-of-a-kind. In this role, you will be expected to lead the team that builds, launches, and incubates new products and businesses. You will report to the Senior Director of Electronics, APAC and Innovation.

Your tasks:

We are looking for an experienced leader who is motivated, entrepreneurial, hands-on, analytical, organized, and visionary. This person needs to have a focus on customer needs, communicate and present clearly, adeptly structure the approach to problems and projects, and collaboratively manage cross-functional project teams. Having a strong sense of the ecommerce business, vision for innovative products and businesses, ability to drive and execute on product-market-fit, experience with product development, and being a culture builder and inspirational leader are invaluable traits to being successful in this role.

Core responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a robust, aspirational team by maintain an innovative and entrepreneurial culture as well as create forward-thinking goals to build opportunities
  • Provide adequate and vital resources for the team to excel and build impact in projects
  • Provide advice and mentor to help team members take projects forward and identify areas of growth
  • Lead on partner management and leadership alignment
  • Present key project achievements to senior leadership and Steering Committee on team’s activities as well as guide on recommendations
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key partners across the organization
  • Continuous monitoring of market trends and competitors
  • Empower and support project leads on managing innovational projects, including:
    • Development of business case
    • Definition of project goals and landmarks in collaboration with leadership
    • Setup and lead project team
    • Drive execution of projects through team sprints by using scrum framework
    • Management of project budget for go-to-market and product development
    • Produce insights and takeaways from project
    • Explore new innovative ideas and identify fast, simple ways to test these or iterations in order to improve or pivot projects

Your profile:

  • Proven experience in product management, corporate innovation, startups/ventures, building and leading teams, business development, and/or consulting
  • Ability to mentor and support the team executing multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity and maintain an organised strategy
  • Strong eye for business with analytical background as well as a data-driven approach
  • Great stakeholder management skills across various team members in a matrix organisation, external agencies, especially interacting with senior leadership
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English required, German is a plus
  • Get-stuff-done, entrepreneurial attitude
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills, as well as meticulous attention to detail
