We are currently recruiting for our Marketing team in Berlin/ Dreilinden a

Senior Manager Customer Loyalty & Retention (m/f/d)

for an 18-month fixed term contract.

The Role  

As a Senior Manager Customer Loyalty & Retention, you are responsible for developing a loyal and engaged customer base. The objective is to grow the lifetime value of our existing customers and improve the retention and loyalty of our best customers. We want them to feel appreciated, engage them with exclusive offers and provide a magical experience on eBay.  

You will report to the Head of customer engagement and jointly work on the definition and execution of our retention strategy, including the definition of OKRs, quarterly planning and execution of retention programs like eBay plus, and implementation of a test and learn-roadmap.  

For this role, it is vital to start with customer insights and understand the driver of retention and potential churn. Based on this, you will identify potential opportunities to improve the customer experience and retention of our top customers.  

After that, you will define and align a quarterly marketing plan with key partners, including the loyalty product team, the DE trading team, and our global marketing team.  

As Senior Manager Customer Loyalty & Retention, you will lead the communication and marketing implementation of the plan. For this, you are working closely together with our creative agency and marketing operation team in Prague.  

In a fast-paced e-commerce ecosystem, you will need to adjust strategies & plans in an agile way whenever company goal and market requirements evolve, keeping a close eye on our customer needs and competitor landscape. 

Your Responsibilities  

  • Working closely with the Analytics & Customer insight team to identify retention drivers and potential churn reasons 

  • Developing the DE loyalty & retention strategy in close collaboration with the Head of Customer Engagement 

  • Defining a Marketing strategy & proposition for local engagement & loyalty programs (eBay plus, Rewards) 

  • Developing briefings for our creative agency with clear customer insights, campaign goals, and communication approach 

  • Driving implementation and e2e execution of our loyalty & retention strategy and programs 

  • Defining a test & learn roadmap incl. AB tests and generates relevant customer insights 

  • Working closely with global and local key partners to ensure aligned plans and execution on mutual goals/metrics 

  • Working with Analytics in setting up a reporting and impact measurement 

Your Profile  

  • Completed university studies – preferably in the field of marketing and/or eCommerce 

  • Ideally, five years or more of online marketing experience – preferable in customer engagement marketing and /or CRM role 

  • Consistent track record in developing & handling sophisticated marketing programs delivering tangible results 

  • Analytical and data-driven approach with experience in extracting scaling levers from test & learn agendas 

  • Being customer focused with the ambition to ensure the best e2e experience for our customers 

  • Ability to exert influence at different levels within a matrix and build positive relationships 

  • Great teammate with a passion for working collaboratively 

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, self-starter and hardworking 

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced business environment 

  • Solution-focused approach with a ‘can-do attitude.’ 

  • Excellent written and spoken German and English
