We Empower People and Create Economic Opportunity

Looking for a company where you can shape how the world buys, sells, and gives? Where you’ll be part of a work culture that’s been genuinely committed to diversity and inclusion since its founding more than 20 years ago? Where you can just be yourself, do your best work, and have a meaningful impact? If so, we’d love to talk to you.

Every day, millions of users sell and ship their wares using eBay. Our team supports this diverse community by building shipping products around the globe, helping individual sellers and small businesses to meet the growing expectations of online buyers. We are an agile team who adapt quickly and stay curious. Join us to make an impact on one of the world’s largest e-commerce platforms.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the product development of eBay's Global Shipping Labels Platform, managing Engineering Managers and Tech Leads, developing individuals and creating a world-class team.
  • Working closely with your team, product managers, the wider eBay organization and external partners to plan and enable our product delivery by carefully balancing this with the needs for technical improvements and high software quality.
  • Additionally, you will be partnering with other senior leaders, directors, VPs and executives to drive eBay's strategy and roadmap.
  • Be accountable for operational excellence and engineering excellence in your area. Ensure that we build and run robust and reliable systems.
  • Advocate and advance our Agile and engineering practices, constantly improving quality and our architecture: building micro-services, striving for continuous delivery, migrating legacy applications, proposing new tools and changing processes.

What you bring:

  • Leadership: Running engineering teams of 50+ people, leading through other managers and decision-making are all part of your core expertise. Removing roadblocks and helping the team deliver high quality products to our customers comes easy to you. You thrive at mentoring, coaching, and growing people to reach their full potential.
  • Communication: As a key partner and interface between engineering teams, product management, the business and senior leadership you are just as good at listening as you are at communicating. You can clearly articulate your thought process and are proficient in translating between engineering and business people.
  • Technical Expertise: You have led large engineering efforts and projects, either greenfield or developed on established technology stacks. With your deep architectural and engineering knowledge you can guide the team to find the best solutions for the problem at hand.
  • Collaboration: You can bring people from different teams and fields together and lead towards a common goal - globally across locations and time zones.

What we bring:

  • Rewarding technical challenges - Delivering shipping solutions in e-commerce requires solving difficult technical problems: building unified shipping platforms for diverse customers, iterating fast while providing the best customer experience, constantly improving our technology while dealing with the eBay volume is what we do best.
  • Great company culture - at eBay we value respect and high expectations of others. We love sharing a drink in our Friday All Hands, play board games and enjoy free lunch on our demo day.
  • Wonderful air-conditioned offices in Shoreditch with bike racks (and shower!) right next to Liverpool St and Shoreditch High Street stations for super easy commuting, and lots of great food options nearby.
  • Flexible working - great support for working from home and great holiday package!
  • Competitive salaryand generous benefits
  • Diversity and Inclusion - We love creating opportunities for others by connecting people from widely diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and geographies. So, being diverse and inclusive isn’t just something we strive for, it is who we are, and part of what we do each and every single day. We want to ensure that as an employee, you feel eBay is a place where, no matter who you are, you feel safe, included, and that you have the opportunity to bring your unique self to work.
