KnownOrigin.io is an early web3 pioneer, an NFT marketplace empowering a new generation of digital artists to express themselves, find an audience and earn a living from their passion. And they're looking for like-minded enthusiasts to join them in their venture!

eBay is a global commerce leader serving more than 180 million users, shaping how the world buys, sells, and gives. The deal combines eBay’s reach and reputation with Known Origin’s leading technology to empower a new wave of NFT creators, sellers and buyers. This acquisition is an important step in eBay’s tech-led reimagination, ushering in a new era of digital collecting to the world’s top destination for collectables.

This is a full-time position based in Manchester or London.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will primarily work with Known Origin’s leadership team, business and product & technology team, providing legal support on all aspects of its business as well as the roll out of new features and functionality, categories and products.
  • As a strong issue spotter on commercial, employment, regulatory, IP, privacy, and consumer protection issues, you will work closely with functional experts in our broader legal department to provide business-focused, end-to-end legal support and solutions to business and technology leaders.
  • This role may include some strategic partnership and commercial work.
  • You will also interact regularly with functional groups within Known Origin and eBay on both transactional work and policy review, including Finance, Accounting, Corporate Development, Marketing, Tax, Information Security, Privacy, Trust and Risk.

Job Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Solicitor
  • 3+ years post-qualification experience gained in private practice or in-house
  • Experience in the following areas desired:
  • Commercial structuring, drafting, and negotiation
  • Privacy/data protection
  • Regulatory
  • Intellectual Property
  • Consumer protection and marketing
  • Ability to build positive relationships quickly and interact with junior to senior business leaders with ease
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and agile thinker, with the ability to tolerate ambiguity in a fast-paced culture
  • Ability to cherish innovation, embrace change, and believe that there is always room for improvement
  • Knowledge of crypto, web3 and NFTs is desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to be flexible with the scope and variety of projects to be undertaken in this role
  • Thrives in a dynamic work environment
  • Good sense of humour
