Our responsibilities include all aspects of eBay’s business in the EMEA region including eBay’s operations in major European markets -- UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain -- as well as driving growth in emerging markets such as Turkey.
eBay is seeking an experienced, commercially focused Planning & Business Development leader to support the eBay UK business.
This is a critical role within the eBay UK leadership team that shapes the strategic direction, priorities and operating plans to drive market expansion and revenue growth. This is an exciting position that will enable you to utilise your ability to think strategically to deliver on strategic partnerships and business imperatives across the UK business.
Identify and develop external partnerships that help accelerate eBay’s & others growth plans.
Drive business judgement, market understanding, problem solving, and fact-based analysis to identify, prioritise, structure, and tackle complex business problems.
Accelerate our revenue growth trajectory by identifying new market opportunities
Communicate vision, strategic objectives and context to drive engagement and alignment cross functionally.
Work closely with and support key partners in achieving strategic objectives of the businesses.
Develop strategic direction for eBay to differentiate itself in the UK whilst working closely with the UK leadership team to support mobilisation and implementation of the business strategies.
Lead and mentor hardworking and driven teams in the development and execution of new business initiatives.
Partner with the regional business units, product and technology leaders, finance and M&A/corporate development, to ensure alignment with overall corporate strategy.
Strong proven leadership and functional experience, ideally in consulting or strategy
Excellent academic background, Master’s degree or similar
Proven inspiring leader with expertise in technology, ideally in e-commerce, retail and/or consumer facing products is highly desirable.
Skilled in strategy development, including project scoping, hypotheses development, financial and business modelling, strategic options' identification, consensus building, and implementation.
Creativity and “out of the box” thinking that drives innovation. The ability to “see around corners” and “connect the dots” that enable business to proactively drive business, not just respond to it.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor driven teams
Strong executive presence and ability to communicate clearly and simply. Ease with executive-level interactions - ability to distil complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and measurable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner.
Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration in a highly matrixed and complex environment.
Background in finance/investing is a plus, particularly in developing joint partnerships/ investment partnerships
Strong proven experience in business development and strategic partnerships, preferably with experience in Automotive and e-commerce
Proven track record of successfully negotiating impactful, complex deals, including relationship management
Strong structured thinking and communication skills
