Job Description

eBay is looking for a skilled and seasoned Product Marketer to join our Global Ads Product Solutions organization to lead a team of Product Content PMMs, overseeing our Portfolio of Ads Products. With your team, you will be helping to create a cohesive narrative and a unified voice for all Ads products across multiple touch points and platforms, focusing on value prop and our in-product content strategy. In collaboration with multiple cross-functional partners, you will create clear, useful and easy-to-understand product content that helps our sellers get the most out of our Ads solutions.

This is a unique opportunity to use your content strategy, design thinking and product marketing skills to help take eBay’s self-serve advertising offerings to the next level. The end-to-end solutions you help create will be visible across eBay’s global sites and will help our sellers understand how they can leverage our innovative products to grow their business. As a team, we focus on content development, content strategy, product strategy, seller education and relationship management.

This role is for you if you have a demonstrated track record as a strong, clear product marketer with excellent grammar and attention to detail, have an interest in digital technology and customer-focused product development (bonus if you are interested or experienced in online advertising), and have experience managing a hard-working team. This role will be a hybrid manager role where you will primarily rely on your team for the majority of deliverables, but will sometimes need to roll up your sleeves and step into IC-mode to help the team deliver in our fast-paced environment.

Additionally, we expect every member of the Product Content team, including you, to:

  • Write in a simple, straightforward and engaging way, keeping the end user in mind
  • Value consistency and know how to maintain and follow voice, tone and style guidelines
  • Articulate complex solutions clearly and concisely to various partners (internal and external)

Please note this is much more of a product focused role and while we support our marketing partners, we are contributors to, but do not own marketing messaging or execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team of high-performing PMM Content Leads to ensure all product content deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality for the entire Ads Portfolio of products
  • Mentor/coach team members to ensure we collectively create written content that is clear, informative and engaging while adhering to eBay’s company voice, style and tone guidelines
  • Oversee content evaluation for quality assurance and help team drive overall internal alignment
  • Quickly understand complex product development concepts and be able to communicate these clearly and succinctly to global partners, stepping in to represent for Product or GTM depending on the context
  • Collaborate with research, go-to-market, legal, design, product management and engineering to make sure all product content accurately reflects overall strategy and serves a global content audience
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to establish clear process / best practices, work with teams to document process, and drive awareness and adoption of all processes
  • Ask questions and seek to understand both customer and company rationale in everything we do

Who You Are

  • Native English speaker who is a strong, clear writer with excellent grammar
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, remain focused, and still hit deadlines amidst frequently changing requirements
  • Active critical thinker who is comfortable asking questions and tracking down answers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong sense of initiative and follow-through with a proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results
  • Ability/willingness to learn complex, sometimes technical, concepts quickly
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into simple and intuitive content
  • Team management experience
  • Experience in Advertising, B2B, B2C or E-Commerce context is preferred
  • Experience working independently in a cross-functional team, including geographically dispersed partners
