The Principal Android Engineer will have an expert's depth and breadth of experience in Android, Java, and their related IDEs (Eclipse, Android Studio) as well as familiarity with the integration of network services. You must be very familiar with and an advocate of the following Agile practices: Designing / giving functional and technical direction to a solution, TDD, clean code, software craftsmanship, Testing at all levels (unit, integration, and acceptance),Story Writing and tasking.  You will also be expected to integrate w/ colleagues in San Jose

Desired Experience
8+ Years of software design, development, and leadership experience
5+ Years of experience developing commercial software with Java
3+ Years of experience developing Android Applications
Experience developing and integrating with web services, TCP/IP and databases
An expert Java Programmer, capable of writing commercial quality Android applications.
Expert knowledge of mobile application design considerations.
Experience with Java IDEs (e.g. Eclipse), profilers, debuggers, revision control systems (e.g. GIT) and bug tracking (e.g. Jira)
BSCS and 8 years experience or equivalent

Responsibilities
Lead payments feature development on eBay's Android application
Coach and mentor more junior members of the development team
Work with product managers, page owners and other team members to develop and implement Payments features.
Collaborate with colleagues in San Jose (Occasional travel required).
Participate in sprint meetings, code reviews, UI design reviews and other feature related meetings.
Communicate and work effectively with team members and across functional teams.
Maintain existing code (fix defects, modify implementation for changing application paradigms and evolving Android OS)
Provide PD scope on proposed features and bug fixes. This includes estimation of effort, risk identification and mitigation, possible alternate solutions.
