The MTS 2 in Software Engineering will enable and drive software quality in Payments, Risk, Billing and Identity through operational excellence. Reporting to the Director of Payments Resiliency and Quality, this individual will be responsible for improving the overall productivity and quality of the Payments Engineering organization.
This position requires a deep understanding of software quality, implementing best practices, and a passion for solving complex business problems through technology.
Diagnose issues found in software and drive corrective action back to source, resulting in root cause identification and elimination.
Analyze data from various sources to identify trends in quality and efficiency. Develop robust and clear data collection, visualization, and analysis tools.
Identify, leverage, and successfully seize opportunities to improve engineering productivity.
Implement monitoring and alerting tools that can keep track of both system-level and business-level performance.
Partner with cross-functional teams including but not limited to business development, site analytics, payment operations and customer operations to deliver strong end to end customer experiences.
Experience in delivering high quality, complex risk and payments software globally.
Experience with service-oriented architecture, web services and APIs.
Comfortable communicating and influencing cross-functionally, and across management levels in formal and informal settings.
Proven experience working in an agile environment, setting and achieving program goals with cross-functional teams.
Creative capacity for developing new ways to execute feature implementation and defect resolution that are better and faster with a strong sense of urgency.
Passion for leveraging analytical insights and test capabilities as a means to enable engineering organizations to achieve outstanding quality, reliability and excellence.
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
8+ years of experience in software design, development with a focus on test engineering
10+ years experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions
10+ years programming experience in an object-oriented programming language such as Java, C/C++
Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures
Experience leading a large organization
