Product Manager, Recommendations End User Experience (UX)

As a Product Manager for Recommendations End User Experience, you’ll work with a cross-functional team of UX designers, frontend engineers, inventing and iterating on the next generation of user experience for surfacing eBay’s recommendations. You will make it easy for our customers to discover new content that leads to serendipitous exploration of our inventory.

The Role:

eBay is a unique marketplace developing opportunities for Sellers and Buyers to transact on a fantastic inventory of more than 1.5Bn listings. These listings must be organized, presented and personalized in order to empower a great experience for our buyers and delivering an optimal visibility for our merchants.

You will be the product architect for this group and push the boundaries of technological innovation to optimize the recommendations we expose to buyers. You will define the onsite shopping experience, make the difficult, high-judgment trade-offs to deliver a delightful experience highlighting eBay’s inventory from our global seller base. You have a passion for solving problems and drive impact while maintaining curiosity for what’s happening outside in the open-source world and academic research to help inspire and guide your product roadmap.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager.
  • 2+ years of experience shipping consumer-facing technology products at scale, with proven experience in UX/UI.
  • Experience working closely with Frontend UI engineering teams as the product owner in an agile environment
  • Experience with UI design and prototype tools, e.g., Figma, Sketch etc.
  • Great design and product sensibilities, Strong understanding of design and daily trends of America and Europe

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree
  • E-commerce and/or digital marketplace experience
  • Familiar with image/video products
  • Experience launching features in mobile app (iOS or android)

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a product roadmap for a set of features from inception through implementation and analysis: collect requirements, establish key performance metrics, craft the user experience, drive execution, and report on the impact
  • Engage in user research, perform discovery on the end-user experience we want to build and activate, to help buyers browse and engaging with eBay’s unique inventory.
  • Partner with design to ideate and wireframe new features that will be in the hands of millions of users across the globe
  • Pare down an ideal feature to the minimum viable product: identify what's essential for us to know if this is a good idea, what's not, and how can we limit cost and risk?
  • Understand complex technical issues, discern impact, and be able to explain the situation to maximize clarity and drive resolution
