About the Role:

The Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Site Navigation and Browse Product Management teams define and build features that optimize the way customers browse our inventory and help our customers easily find and reach relevant eBay pages when searching on search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. With literally hundreds of millions of products listed on eBay globally at any time, the scale at which eBay has to consider search engine optimization puts our team in a unique position to innovate and provide immediate value to the business.

The SEO, Site Navigation and Browse Product Management teams work closely with Product Development, Data Science, Quality Engineering, Design, and other cross-domain organizations to build scalable and highly-available business solutions that are used by millions of eBay users across the globe every day. We are responsible for driving organic traffic that represents billions of dollars worth of goods and services bought on eBay.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to help build out the roadmap for data science products that drive the landing page experience on eBay. These are the algos that proxy buyer demand and optimize the landing pages that users see and can navigate to. You will drive and maintain the science product roadmap including defining requirements of new features/products while continuing to improve and optimize existing features/products. You will have a solid understanding of the user needs, how the data fits in with the front-end experience/design, and know how to validate the outcome via human judgment, A/B testing and other testing methodologies. You will work directly with the data scientists and ML engineers involved in technical discussions leading to the best solutions, review preliminary results to identify issues pre-emptively.

The successful candidate will be the product leader identifying opportunities that deliver impact with a good understanding of data science technologies and how they can be applied to solve user and business problems. The ability to bring about positive work culture changes is desired. You will work directly with many partners both within and outside of the SEO, Site Navigation, and landing page teams, so the ability to drive consensus and problem solve is crucial.

The agile team for this role is based in Israel, however this position will be based out of San Francisco. Flexibility working with a different time zone is required, with frequent, regular visits to the San Jose headquarters where the broader team is located as well as periodic visits to Israel where the agile team is located.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related experience required
  • 5+ years experience in a Product Management role
  • Solid scientific orientation and good data intuition
  • Experience in working in ML science and big-data domains (background/experience in statistical modeling and machine learning helpful)
  • Articulate complex ideas into clear, usable end-user requirements
  • Data driven and goals oriented
  • Product leader with track record of execution and delivery
  • Excellent communication & people skills
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
  • Comfortable working in large, matrixed organizations
