The Opportunity:

We are seeking an individual to execute against multiple cross-functional projects supporting the Markets Leadership Team within eBay. eBay’s global business teams report up to the General Manager and SVP of Markets, who reports to the eBay CEO. The Markets leadership is comprised of all the regional P&L holders (e.g., the eBay.com US General Manager and P&L, the United Kingdom General Manager, etc.), along with a series of global operational leads, including performance marketing, global brand, and payments.

Supporting the SVP of Markets is a small team called “Markets Business Enablement”, led by the Sr. Director, Markets Chief of Staff and Business Enablement, reporting to the SVP of Markets. Along with helping the SVP run his staff, such as managing global operational cadences, ensuring follow-through on priority action items and initiatives, managing executive presentations to the office of the CEO, you will also execute on cross-functional projects.

These projects are generally global in nature spanning across multiple teams in the organization, requiring input and execution from a variety of senior leaders within Markets and their teams. Recent examples of projects include developing a global fact base and set of recommendations around the different revenue optimization approaches within each regional market (e.g., ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, etc.), as well as a project to identify growth opportunities for cross border trade (the selling of goods across national borders) within the global eBay portfolio. In each of these instances the Business Enablement team worked closely with the senior leaders managing these components of the eBay business to identify business opportunities and recommendations. Projects will generally last between 1 and 6 months, and may over time develop into opportunities for ongoing initiatives.

This role is a great fit for someone with dreams to take on direct line management responsibility at some point in their career, or those passionate about strategy and planning within a large global organization. It is an opportunity to serve a high performing team at a senior level within the organizational structure, and will involve considerable exposure to executives within the organization. Individuals should have the capability and desire to work with senior leaders in a global dynamic environment.

You Are:

  • Customer focused with a willingness to ‘Be the Customer’ in terms of both buying and selling on the eBay platform
  • Someone who takes a collaborative approach to getting things done
  • Data-driven and have the ability to use and interpret data to inform the business
  • Comfortable with Basic Excel, having SQL experience is a plus
  • A hard worker how loves to learn and adapt
  • Strong communicator and are confident in speaking to complex business problems with clarity and poise. Power Point proficiency and Executive track communication skills are a requirement.
  • Ambitious and want to grow professionally.

You Have:

  • BA/BS required, post-graduate business degree (for example MBA) a plus but not required
  • 5+ years related experience, or experience at a top-tier management consultancy or strategy & planning function in a major corporation
  • Aforementioned interpersonal, analytical, Excel and Power Point capabilities
