Principal Product & Business Strategy Manager, B2C Selling

Position Summary

As the Principal Product and Business Strategy Manager, you will build strategies and own initiatives that improve the experiences our sellers depend on, including (but not limited to) onboarding and registration, product listing, Seller Hub, the eBay storefront, shipping experience, communications, self-service capabilities, and policies. You will use analytics and research to build a deep understanding of B2C seller needs and turn these insights into roadmaps and actions. As a key leader in the Americas organization, you will also collaborate across partners (Product Management, Engineering, Design, Analytics, Risk, Customer Support) to align policies and set standards for the benefit of all the large and small businesses on our platform.

Your work will touch millions of B2C Sellers, helping them to grow their business in a streamlined, consistent, and profitable way.

What You’ll Do

Strategy Definition and Prioritization: Identify and address seller improvement opportunities; develop business cases, drive continuous improvement, and set objectives and critical metrics for the B2C Seller experience

Benefit Quantification: Build the case for change using seller data, analysis of financial and operational metrics, and competitive benchmarking

Roadmap Ownership: Develop roadmaps to deliver the capabilities our B2C Sellers need most, e.g., smooth onboarding, consistent policies, great seller tools, easy listing management, efficient shipping, clear communications, and extensive self-service

Teamwork: Collaborate with partners, aligning to shared strategies and goals, championing seller experiences, and innovating across teams

Results and Accountability: Define the product vision, build business cases, and measure results; demonstrate strong dedication towards goals and driving impactful projects focused on improving seller experience, value, and quality

Who You Are

  • Proven leader that can inspire cross-functional teams, delivering experiences at eBay’s scale
  • High level of comfort with analytical approaches and quantitative methods
  • Committed, independent, self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record leading multiple priorities simultaneously with minimum guidance and high attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable making pitches to executives, as well as business, product, monetization and policy teams
  • Well versed in both online and integrated retail environments
  • Understand the importance of design and research and how both fit into building new processes and deploying new technologies

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree, with 7+ years of relevant ecommerce experience, e.g., Seller Experience, Product Management, Program Management, Product Operations, Product Strategy, Defect Reduction
  • Prior experience owning end-to-end eCommerce experiences, and using measures like NPS, conversion funnels and financial results
  • Proven experience leading the delivery of strategies from roadmap to delivery in a highly collaborative culture
  • Experience in Agile Product Management
  • Solid understanding of technical solutions used in marketplaces and ecommerce platforms and familiarity with system architecture and APIs
  • Creative problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree a plus
