We are looking for a Senior Category Manager of Apparel Recommerce to join our team at eBay. Based in either San Jose, CA or San Francisco, CA, you will help own the Apparel category with a focus on pre-loved merchandise. The Opportunity

The role is to help promote eBay’s value proposition within the circular economy as it relates to apparel. Working with brands and sellers, you will help to develop a model that brings pre-loved apparel into the lives of eBay buyers throughout the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop models that allows for brands and individual sellers to efficiently list and market their pre-loved merchandise. Models should be adaptable to serve the brands’ motivations and purpose for participating in circular economy initiatives.
  • Identify potential brand partners and effectively pitch recommerce business proposition.
  • Cultivate and own relationships with key brands to ensure they launch effectively on the platform and have a scaling plan in place.
  • Manage portfolio of brands on an ongoing basis, conducting regular reviews of performance and managing toward goals.
  • Work with internal teams to identify opportunities in the buying and selling journey of pre-loved apparel and work to resolve.
  • Create reports on key success metrics and regularly report to brand partners and eBay leadership. Metrics should be related to, but not limited to, goals around sustainability, finances, and brand perception.
  • Participate in creating long-term visions for recommerce programs and own financial modeling and executional plans.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience as a business owner in an online retail or marketplace environment. Experience with secondhand markets preferred.
  • Broad functional skillset with proven leadership in marketing, product, project management, operations, and P&L ownership.
  • Ability to articulate vision and purpose for the initiatives and programs.
  • Proven track record of strategic planning and execution, taking major projects from idea to full implementation
  • Strong executive presence. Ability to communicate clearly and simply.
