The ideal candidate will have a blend of science and engineering skills, consistent record of solving critical business problems through data science and strong analytical/quantitative skills. The candidate will be encouraged to have strong communication skills and to be capable of cross-group collaborations.

Role:

This team focuses on building data / ML services for our advertiser sellers, to guide them ways to optimize for their ad budget and goals, for example by recommending the right inventory, keywords and Ads bid rate to apply for their campaigns, and eventually create campaigns automatically for advertisers. This is a relatively new area but with a very high business potential and need. It would allow you to work with massive amounts of data, and use a variety of data science techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Mine big data to understand user behaviors and patterns and leverage the insights to optimize Ads experience with sellers/buyers.
  • Research and develop algorithms for greater guidance experiences for sellers/advertisers while maximizing selling velocity.
  • Develop solution to large-scale problem.
  • Translate business problem to machine learning problem.
  • Build quick prototypes

Qualifications:

  • Smart, quick learning and proactive.
  • Good communication skills and a great teammate.
  • Enthusiastic about mining big data to improve Ads experience.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team to research innovative solutions to challenging business problems.
  • Master degree or above in Computer Science or related field. Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skill and data-driven decision making.
  • Solid knowledge about data structure and algorithms.
  • Proficient in R, Python, Java, Scala, or C++ programming language.
  • Data mining, machine learning background is required, experience with NLP/ forecasting/knowledge graph is a big plus.
