Responsibilities

As part of the eBay Greater China risk & Trust management team, the Policy Manager’s primary objective is to reduce losses to eBay and our customers by preventing or mitigating the impact of bad customer experiences. The Policy Manager is responsible for policy and enforcement strategies that optimize risk mitigation and business impact.  

In order to this, the Risk Manager will be required to work closely with the local management team, global business units, 3rd party service providers, and cross-functional business partners. He/She must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and facilitate effective communications and data-driven decision making. Example deliverables include project plans, data that supports policy decision-making, process documentation, product documentation, resource allocation proposals, contingency plans, etc.

Requirements

  • Minimum of BA/BS degree in business, engineering, computer science, or statistics.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, sql/sas. Proficiency in python desired.
  • Minimum of 5+ years experiences in risk management industry such as onboarding verification, fraud detection, payment risk, etc.
  • Strong communication skills: conflict resolution, stakeholder management, negotiation, customer satisfaction, diplomacy, rapport building, and decision making
  • High integrity and uphold eBay’s code of ethics, regulations, and values.
  • Have the business acumen necessary to perceive how customers will react to policy decisions, to understand downstream business impact of trust/risk policy, and to efficiently prioritize business tasks with limited resources.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, both written and oral.
