The Role

As a Financial Analyst, Asia Pacific, you will be a part of eBay finance team, reporting to the Head of FP&A, APAC based in Singapore. The individual will support the FP&A head and work with in-country finance teams across the region to carry out FP&A related work, including but not limited to providing periodic financial reporting, financial planning and supporting business decision making through quantitative and qualitative analyses.


Job Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Responsible for weekly/monthly/quarterly reports on key financial and business metrics performance and variance analyses against forecast and budget
  • Identify and analyze critical business trends and monitor impact of key initiatives
  • Develop prototype reports for new business questions, and ensure report and data accuracy

Financial Planning:

  • Support the FP&A head in long-range planning, yearly budgeting and monthly forecasting processes for the region
  • In charge of planning for regional headquarters’ expenses, including headcount units and costs, T&E and other G&A expenses …

Process Management

  • Take the regional lead on building and / or maintaining different finance processes within the region
  • Be the go-to person in the region for questions on processes and systems. Actively orient colleagues to the correct reports and systems to find necessary data.  Support with data extraction when necessary.
  • Take part as regional representative in the implementation of any new global processes

Analytical support: Work to become the internal expert on eBay related metrics. Execute and present financial analyses if required to enable decision making and strategy development

Other ad-hoc projects as necessary


Required Criteria

Education & Skills Required

  • Top-tier university graduate with a strong academic record
  • At ease with and enjoys handling and analyzing large amounts of data
  • Excellent Microsoft Office (especially Excel) skills required; familiarity with SAP, BW and BPC (or other EPM softwares) a plus

Experience Required & Personal Characteristics

  • 3-5 years of prior work experience in a similar FP&A role or analytical role; experience with Marketplace business model a plus
  • Proactive and goal-oriented personality, good at juggling multiple tasks
  • Be flexible to react to changing priorities
  • Personal fit with company culture: adhering to highest standard of integrity, high energy, sense of humor, friendly, team player
