As a software engineer, you will be hands-on with product development, building high-quality software. This role requires partnership and collaboration within B2C Selling and other organizations within eBay, so you must have great communication skills and the ability to work well with others. As a core participant of your team, you’ll work in an Agile environment rolling out system changes with implications for cross-functional teams, estimating and planning engineering efforts, implementations, and triaging production issues. You need to be dynamic, collaborative, and curious as we build new experiences, improve existing products, and develop distributed systems powering the world’s largest e-commerce website at a scale few companies can match.

Job Requirements

  • At least 4+ years' experience building web experiences, using browser technologies and frameworks like React, Angular, and Server technologies like Java
  • Experience in NodeJS, Java, Scala, Oracle/ MongoDB (or other NOSQL DBs), REST, Event Source, Web Sockets, HTML5, CSS3, RWD, JQuery is highly desirable.
  • Experience with modern JS frameworks would be a huge plus
  • Experience with performance tuning, web security, accessibility and site speed
  • Excellent understanding of data structures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven results-oriented person with a focus on delivery in a high-velocity and high-availability environment
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and ability to understand and provide good feedback on business requirements
  • Team player mind-set working towards common goals with the team
