As a Product Manager in the Buyer Experience team, you will be responsible for defining product strategy, experience design, development, launch, measurement, and iterations of core buying experiences. You will be part of exploring key opportunities for growth, creating a stellar customer experience, and support all aspects of the product. You need to be dynamic, collaborative, and curious as we build new experiences and improve existing products that power one of the world’s largest e-commerce websites.
As a Product Manager of Data & Data Science, you are responsible for leading teams of engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to develop proprietary models, data pipelines and implement them in the name of improving the customer experience and driving eBay’s business. You will be responsible for defining the vision of the product and prioritizing functionality by defining roadmaps and writing detailed requirements to guide cross-functional teams. You will need to be the bridge from our customer needs to the technical solutions that build a long term, sustainable company.
Understand and synthesize customer and business needs from market research, customer insights, and business data
Uses design thinking and iterative development processes for developing and testing hypotheses
Strong data architecture background with experience designing complex backend solutions and data pipelines to bring data products to life in production
Help formulate product/platform strategy for the product line and deliver to a prioritized roadmap that addresses customer needs
Define product requirements and manage the overall schedule of a project to deliver features on time with high quality
Work with partners in the markets, legal, customer service, engineering and analytics to define, build and launch products/platform features
Manage communications and expectations with internal stakeholders and the eBay community of buyers and sellers
Qualifications and Competencies:
PhD or Masters in economics, operations research, machine learning or an equivalent quantitative field or MBA candidate with emphasis on Statistics, Economics & Applied Math (of which experiment design, analysis & feature development at most important)
Work experience in product management with experience successfully launching products/platforms
Strong interest and understanding of the e-commerce industry
Demonstrates critical thinking skills and independent motivation
